It’s a new month – your reminders

It’s a new month! Here are your monthly reminders.
Create a Standard Grocery List! Always have ingredients in your fridge, freezer, and pantry to make your most commonly made meals. Shop sale fliers with matched up coupons (purchase multiple papers). With these significant savings you can stockpile and always create a healthy menu for your family each week based on items you already have on hand. Establish a Meatless Monday or a Pasta Wednesday. I have a homemade pizza Saturday with games or a movie with my family. Knowing what type of day it is helps establish a menu.
Purchase a slow roaster like a NESCO. Place your ingredients in a roasting dish and cover. Prepare a salad, potato, or pasta when it’s time for dinner. You will have created a delicious meal with more time to spend with your kids – from catching up after a day of school or camp, sorting the mail, or having that cup o’ coffee. Establish this type of routine on your working day or those busy Saturdays with sports and dance classes, and you will have set yourself up for a flexible and relaxing evening plus saved money instead of going out for a bite to eat.
Enroll in point saving opportunities. Searching the internet, shopping online, reading email – earn points for doing all of these and reward yourself with a Gift Card to many mass stores such as Walmart, Target, Starbucks, plus more! Take the money you would have spent out of your budget and place it in your Fund then use the Gift Card in its place. The savings are significant! My favorites are MyPoints, Swag Bucks, and Jingit.
